After the success of its 51st annual festival, the San Francisco Film Society approached Factor Design once again to create a new visual identity for 2009. Initially, my proposed concept involved knocking the photography out of simple, recognizable shapes. Its evolution, however, resulted in something quite different.
The abstract, gestural forms reference film reels and the previous year’s ribbon motif, yet they take on a dynamic life of their own.
